We as a Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) 5-STAR Rated Academy strongly believe that our goal as an early childhood institution is to provide the highest quality care and education for young children. Quality care can be achieved through a combination of educational experiences and positive learning attributes. Our love for children describes our definition of the word PASSION. The early education of young children is especially important in today’s rapidly changing society. This is the reason it is so important for every child to have the opportunity to experience the highest quality care that Joyful Beginnings Children’s Learning Academy offers. This environment will foster an atmosphere to satisfy the social emotional, intellectual, physical and spiritual needs of your child.

Excellence In Curriculum

JBCLA uses a child-lead approach which consist of a complete creative schema that covers all areas of a child’s developmental stages. These lessons are in line with the Ohio Early Learning Developmental Standards. These standards include Social/Emotional; Cognitive; Approaches to Learning; Language and Literacy; and Physical Wellness/Gross Motor Development. Our curriculum teaches all subjects in addition and is developed based on the interest of our children. Some basic teachings are Bible truths, children also get kindergarten preparation and are assured to meet the Ohio Kindergarten Readiness Standards. The JBCLA curriculum reaches all learning styles. Infants through Preschoolers need age appropriate variety, so there is visual, auditory, tactual, and kinesthetic learning activities. With our regular teacher conferences, formal assessments, observations and screenings, success is monitored by both parent and teacher.

We are proud to have added a PreK program under the umbrella of Ohio Department Of Education. Also we are partnered with Early Start Columbus PreK Program and the OSU BrightStart Program.

Research proving that children learn through “PLAY”, we have made that a focus here at JBCLA. Planned constructive, purposeful play helps to build self worth by giving a child a sense of his or her own abilities and to feel good about themselves. It also promotes sharing, creativity, imagination, and working with others. Researchers also have proved that play is important to healthy brain development. Through this combination of academic exposure and the purposeful, intentional instruction of our nurturing staff your child will be promised to possess the tools necessary for school and beyond.

Excellence In Our Staff

Our staff has been trained in the importance of early childhood development and education so they provide opportunities for learning, through a variety of creative experiences, from Infancy through School age. Our staff are also trained in areas that help them to develop tools for encouraging your child to learn and explore at their own pace, in their own interest areas and to enhance each child’s creativity and positive self image.

Member’s of our staff are carefully selected, trained and regularly evaluated. All of our lead staff have obtained a College Degree or CDA (Child Development Associate Credential). Each Educator’s goal is to help our Academy practice high quality principals on good sound moral instruction aligned with biblical principles daily for your child. Children learn to love as we love them. They learn forgiveness, fairness, justice and acceptable behavior as they see it practiced by the adults around them. We also have an in-house Family Counselor to meet the needs of the child and family as a whole.

Excellence In Nutrition

Everyday your child will receive meals for breakfast, lunch, and snack . These meals will be based on the nutritional guidelines established by the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) in conjunction with CACFP Program (Child and Adult Food Program) and have been revised to promote a healthier life style through informative tips given from our partners , Ohio Healthy Programs and Healthy Children, Healthy Weights.

The menus at JBCLA are planned so that children receive a well-rounded diet that will include a variety of appealing foods.

We will not only supply your child with well-balanced meals, but we will make an effort to educate children in the area of food and nutrition to assist them in making better food choices that could help them avoid many of the bad eating habits that can effect them later in life.

We feel this area is so vital we also educate our caregivers on nutrition to assure continuity from school to home. It is our goal to make this area of nutrition a contribution to the growth and develop of your child and hopefully family as a whole.

Excellence In Our Approach to Parents as Our Partners

Parents are recognized as the most valuable and significant part of a child’s life. We will strive to develop and maintain a partnership with you, as the parent, and the educators of JBCLA to ensure that we are on one accord to make your child’s first years of life magnificent.

While most parents would like to be home with their child enjoying the beginning experiences of childhood, it is the unfortunate circumstance of today’s economic condition that forces the increasing need for parents to work and require childcare. It is with this understanding that we want to make this the most enjoyable experience for both you and your child(ren).

With this in mind, we have an open door policy. You are always welcome during school hours to stop into yours child’s classroom. This open door policy is to aid our parents in feeling even more secure with choosing JBCLA as a place for your child to learn and grow. We will also make sure you receive regular updates of your child’s daily progress through our Procare App which includes the child’s daily activities, pictures, and classroom work, play and creations. The information is given to the parent through their email which gives the parent the opportunity to see what their child is doing while they are in the safe care of JBCLA .

We also have a Facebook Page called “Joyful Beginnings Children’s Learning Academy Parents”, it is a closed group which shows exciting events at JBCLA, inspirational sayings and quotes, parent newsletters, quarterly parent and engagement activities. All in an effort to make sure we miss nothing in your child’s development.
